Arthur David Kean, cinematographer, created this film of New Westminster’s 1915 and 1917 May Day festival. The 35mm nitrate film was in amazing shape except that the beginning and the end of the film were missing. The film was digitized for the New Westminster Archives ( https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/arts-and-heritage/museums-and-archives )
16mm film clip of the Voyage to Western Baffin Land under the auspices of the American Geographical Society, Museum of the American Indian and the Heye Foundation.
Great footage taken from a 16mm film of the Grey Cup (CFL Football) Parade in downtown Vancouver 1955. This was the first time that the Grey Cup was held in Vancouver, BC. Notice the Jack Cullen Record store across the street. Jack Cullen worked for many many years in radio. I remember him from CKNW.
A variety of films scanned using a 5K archival scanner. Films include: 35mm silent, 16mm silent, 16mm comag, 8mm silent, Super8 comag. Samples of log scanning, overscanning, etc
This is a film that suffered from mode damage where parts of the emulsion have been eaten away. Some amazing great clips in between some bad ones. No post edit corrections done. First part of the clip is an overscan and the last part is cropped to the frame. 16mm film
