Overview We were switching back and forth between recording DAT tapes and audio cassettes. In the process one needs to change the Echo Console to to use a different clock timing source. For the DAT tapes the clock needs to be set to "S/PDIF" and for the analogue inputs (audio cassette, etc) the clock needs to be "internal".
When recording analogue we forgot to change the "clock" back to internal and this resulted in all the analogue (audio cassette, reel-to-reel) captures being to fast!
Solution
Adjust the speed of the audio by adjusting the "Time stretch / pitch shift". This can be found on the Vegas audio track properties (right click on the audio track in Vegas and select properties). Change the method to "classic". Check the "Lock to stretch" box and enter -8.15
